Greetings to the AVR community. It is exciting times at American Veterans Rebuilding and we have so much great news to share.
Ill start with this… AVR Vice President and Secretary, Josh Hicks, has been working behind the scenes to improve our greatest asset as a startup non-profit…. communication. It is our intention for our AVR website,avrnpo.org, to be the “go to” resource for information regarding AVR and it’s progress. We now have an official blog on the AVR website and will utilize it as the primary source of updates from the team. Check in regularly to watch us grow. A huge thank you to Josh’s team’s work and volunteerism, as well as their dedication to improving our fighting position.
I am pleased to announce that the newest Episode of the AVRSFC Podcast is is now live. Our Guest, Emily Anthony, is the Director of the Office of Military and Veterans Success and VA School Certifying Official for Southeastern Louisiana University. Emily is also a Cpt. in the Louisiana National Guard, and holds a Masters in Education. In our discussion we go over a wealth of knowledge regarding veterans and their use of Education Benefits, and is a must listen episode for every veteran earning said benefits. AVR Executive Vice President, Sergio Rubio, has also been spearheading our communication and networking efforts to great success in California. Sergio has shared AVR’s mission to improve the American veteran’s self, family and community by attending meetings with the Bakersfield CA. Rotary Club chapter, as well as earned AVR a seat as a non-profit with Bakersfield Networking Icons, a chapter of Business Networking International. BNI is “world’s largest business networking and referral organization”. I cannot be more pleased with Sergio’s leadership and dedication to improvement. Financially AVR is growing as well. We have received more donations in the past 3 months than ever before. This growth can be attributed to the trust AVR has earned among it’s closest community members. These additional funds will allow our Treasurer, William Cuccurullo, to start investing donation monies so that we can grow towards our ultimate goal of building houses with veterans. His work will lay the foundation for which our success and trustworthiness will be judged in the coming years of growth. We cannot thank Will enough for his knowledge and dedication.
Finally, our core family is growing by one. Our brother in arms, Michael Halladey, has stepped up and volunteered to help AVR by serving as an information liaison (title name pending). Michael is already assisting Sergio with attendance and note taking for the Rotary club and BNI meetings, and in the future will be integrated to help distribute information through the community. Welcome to the team champ, thanks for what you do.
In closing, I know we have been quiet, but we have been focusing on the aforementioned areas of improvement. We have made great strides establishing our legitimacy, and are dedicate to continuing it’s growth. Please be sure to check in with us regularly, and thank you for the support.
